Customer support workflows in Meta Business Suite are bottlenecked by text-only input. Meta Business Suite on their web version doesn't have a natie voice message feature. To solve this, I engineered a browser extension that injects native push-to-talk functionality directly into the DOM.
Navigating the Review Process
Building the extension was only half the battle.
Navigating the Chrome Web Store review process proved challenging, particularly when dealing with strict manifest.json permissions.
I hit a rejection notice regarding content security policies.
By isolating the DOM manipulation scripts and properly scoping the audio recording permissions, I successfully resolved the rejection. Today, the extension is actively speeding up workflows for over 200 users.
